Inspired by the success of edutainment creators like Every Frame a Painting, Netflix invested in creating promotional explainer-mini docs to accompany some of their biggest film and TV releases. Along with writer and researcher Graham Kelley Nelson, I was to create a look and feel for these mid-form documentaries.
I treated each mini-doc as a one-of-one, developing a bespoke visual approach for each. The goal was to match the tone of the film, while also lightly embracing Netflix branding.
